Key Points

1. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. All we can do is surrender our lives to His control and accept His free gift of salvation resulting in eternal life.
2. We have a connection with God through Christ, by believing, confessing and repenting of our sins.
3. We can be sure about our eternal destiny
4. Eternal life begins now (not in heaven someday in the future.)

Introduction

The Bible is our source and standard for truth. As John 17:17 says, “Thy word is truth.” When we apply that truth, it provides a foundation for our values and a guide for our daily lives.

Book #2, Life Foundations, digs deeper into God’s Word and lays a strong biblical foundation for a person’s Christian walk. In this book, we will cover a lot:

• our new life in Christ
• our new identity
• the battle with the world, the flesh and the devil
• temptation
• the Holy Spirit
• prayer
• preparing your personal testimony

Your “Timothy” will also begin to memorize specific Scriptures that correlate to each lesson. The Scripture texts are not printed, so your Timothy will need his own Bible. If he does not have a Bible, you will want to help him select one and learn how to use it.

In Chapter 1 of Life Foundations, “New Life in Christ,” we will come to see how Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. All we can do is surrender our lives to His control and accept His free gift of salvation, resulting in eternal life.

We will explore our connection with God through Christ, a connection we acknowledge by believing in Him and confessing and repenting of our sins. We will examine how we can be sure about our eternal destiny and how eternal life begins now, not in heaven someday in the future.
